How to Get the Fortnite Pirate Shop Token
There is no known trick. The token is a random chest reward, so the plan is simple: open chests, stay alive, play squads.

The practical plan
- Play Battle Royale while Treasure Hunters is live
The token is part of the mini-season prize pool, which dataminer HYPEX says includes the Pirate Shop every week. Shacknews describes the Pirate Shop as available only during the mini-season; the end date for finding tokens is not known.
- Open as many chests as you safely can
Insider Gaming reports a match has roughly 70 to 100 chests and estimates that 20 to 40 are realistically opened per game. Its suggested busy spots are Fortune’s Fort, Lantern Landing and Plunder Port.
- Stay alive long enough to keep opening
The only thing that scales your odds is the number of chests you open, so a longer run per match beats a quick death after one chest. This is a common-sense reading of the odds, not a confirmed tactic.
- Look for the splash screen
Shacknews reports that a large on-screen splash announces access when the token drops. You can finish the match before activating it.
- Head to the lobby to activate
Activation happens in the Item Shop, not in the match. Follow the activation steps and read the deadline first.

Which chests count? Reports disagree
| Report | What it says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Special graffiti chests | Chests marked with skull-and-bones graffiti spawn randomly on a map reported as Crossbone Isle and can hold very rare loot. | Shacknews |
| Ordinary chests | The first reported finder won in a normal Solos lobby from a chest that looked like any other. | Dexerto, citing the finder |
| Any chest | GameRant and Vice refer only to “Treasure Chests” and do not separate chest types. | GameRant, Vice |
Until Epic or a large sample of finders settles this, assume every chest you can reach might count and do not skip chests based on a guide that claims otherwise.
Squads, solos and sharing
Shacknews says that if one squad member finds the token, the whole squad gets access. TheGamer reports that Shiina and HYPEX verified that every squad member receives the reward, two tokens each. Insider Gaming calls it “allegedly”, so we label it likely but not guaranteed.
If sharing works, a squad of four opening chests in parallel quadruples the number of rolls per match. That is why the calculator includes a squad field, and why the odds of one person finding it are not the odds of your squad finding it. One Solos win has also been reported, so a squad does not appear to be required.
What not to waste time on
- Paid or “generated” tokens. The reward cannot be transferred between accounts. See the scam checklist.
- Unsourced “best chest” lists. No guide has verified a chest type or location that raises your odds.
- Promises that a number of chests guarantees it. Every figure is a chance, not a pity timer, as explained on the odds page.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I find the Pirate Shop Token?
It is a random reward from chests during Fortnite Battle Royale matches while Treasure Hunters is running. There is no fixed location. Shacknews suggests staying in large points of interest, where more chests may spawn.
Which chests can drop the Pirate Shop Token?
Sources disagree. Shacknews describes special chests marked with skull-and-bones graffiti on a map reported as Crossbone Isle, while the first reported finder said the chest looked like any other and the win came in a normal Solos match. Treat chest type as unconfirmed.
Is there a way to farm the Pirate Shop Token?
No farming method is established. Shacknews says there is none, and the odds are unconfirmed, so spending more time on chests is the only lever anyone can name.
Can I get the token in Solos?
Probably. One player reports winning in a normal Solos lobby. Squad play may add shared chances if sharing holds.
