Activation steps
- Finish your match
Shacknews reports you do not need to activate right away. You can complete the match first.
- Open the Item Shop from the main lobby
Activation happens outside matches, on the Item Shop screen.
- Select the Pirate Shop option
Shacknews names it “Plunder the Shop”. Some coverage calls it “Plunder the Item Shop”, so look for the pirate-themed entry rather than relying on the exact wording.

This starts the 14-day timer. Dexerto stresses the timer begins only when you activate, not when the token drops.

When should you activate?
There is no reason to rush. TheGamer’s advice is not to activate immediately, because you have until the end of 2026 to use the first token. A practical approach is to wait until the Item Shop has several items you actually want, then activate with at least 14 days left.

Two tokens, two windows
HYPEX reports that a find grants two activations, one for 2026 and one for 2027. Both windows end on December 15 of their year, and the 2027 one opens on January 1 (the 2027 dates come from Dexerto alone). You cannot give an unused token to someone else, since it cannot be transferred to another account. If you are unsure how likely you are to find one, run the numbers on the calculator.
The Pirate Shop itself is described as available only during the Treasure Hunters mini-season, so new tokens are not expected to drop forever. We could not find a firm end date for finding tokens in the sources we checked. See the sources page for open questions.
